In the second quarter of 2022, the top five social networking applications in the United Arab Emirates exhibited diverse performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active user metrics. Here’s a closer look at how each app fared.

BIGO LIVE-Live Stream, Go Live experienced significant fluctuations in weekly revenue, starting at approximately $72.6K and peaking at about $114.7K in late April. Weekly downloads ranged from roughly 15K to 21K, with a notable peak in early May. The app maintained a strong active user base, increasing from around 160K to 174K by the end of June.

Tango - Live Stream, Go Live saw a varied revenue trend, with a high of about $60.8K in early May and a low of approximately $31.2K in mid-June. Downloads showed a downward trend, starting at around 3.8K and decreasing to roughly 1.5K by early June, before a slight recovery. Active users for Tango ranged from about 71.8K to 84.4K, with some fluctuation throughout the quarter.

Azar: Video Chat & Meet People recorded a substantial increase in revenue mid-quarter, reaching up to $45.3K in mid-May, before stabilizing around $27.2K by the end of June. Downloads varied, with a peak of approximately 4.8K in the last week of June. Active users saw a considerable rise, growing from around 13.3K to 19.7K over the quarter.

MICO: Make Friends, Live Chat displayed a decreasing trend in revenue, starting at about $43.1K and dropping to roughly $16K by the end of June. Downloads remained relatively stable, fluctuating between approximately 0.7K to 2.2K. Active users for MICO ranged from around 10.2K to 12.7K, with a slight increase towards the end of the quarter.

Facebook exhibited consistent performance with weekly downloads ranging between approximately 66.8K and 96.1K. Revenue peaked at about $23.9K at the end of March, before settling around $12K by the end of June. The app maintained a robust active user base, steadily increasing from around 6.05M to 6.32M throughout the quarter.
